Project narrative

In 2009, the Chinese Embassy in Australia donated an unknown quantity of Chinese books to the National Library of Australia. Among the books donated in either 2005 (captured in Record #97659) or 2009 is the rare "Ode to Forty Scenes of the Old Summer Palace." This book was described as a treasure in the collection of the Chinese Library Department of the National Library of Australia which houses the largest collection of Chinese books in the southern hemisphere. The financial value of the donated books is unknown.
