Project narrative

On February 15, 2006, the Chinese Consulate in Brisbane donated 320 books to the University of Queensland's Institute of Modern Languages (IML). The books cover topics including Chinese language, history, culture and customs. On February 15, 2006, a handover ceremony for the books was held at the university's James and Mary Emelia Mayne Centre. The ceremony was attended by Chinese Consul and Head of Mission, Liu Fei, and the director of the Institute of Modern Languages, Georgiana Poulter. The financial value of the donated books is unknown.
