In November, 2021 the the University of Queensland and the CRRC Group Co., Ltd. announced the establishment of the CRRC Merit Scholarship at the University of Queensland. The purpose of the scholarship is to "encourage and support meritorious third year undergraduate students studying engineering, computing, design or architecture at The University of Queensland." On November 17, 2021 Professor Vicki Chen, Executive Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture & Information Technology of UQ, and Gao Kang, Director, Corporate Culture Department of CRRC, inked the agreement of the CRRC Merit Scholarship at a virtual signing ceremony. Up to four scholarships may be awarded each year on recommendation of the Associate Dean. The value of each scholarship is AUD 5,000. The program is the first time that CRRC established a special scholarship at an Australian university. The scholarship is maintained by an annual gift from CRRC Group Co., Ltd.
