Project narrative

In September 2012, the Nanning City Provincial Government donated traditional Chinese lion and dragon costumes to the Bundaberg Regional Council. The costumes were presented to Bundaberg Mayor Mal Forman during a formal visit to Nanning, Bundaberg's sister city, in September 2012. The costumes were used in a performance for the first time at Bundaberg's annual Chinese New Year celebrations held in February 2013. The financial value of the costumes is unknown.
