On March 2, 2020, Changzhou Municipal Government donated 50,000 masks to Japanese medical institutions for COVID-19 prevention. The masks were distributed by the Chinese Consulate General in Nagoya. The goal of the donation was to alleviating the shortage of masks in Japan. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
