Project narrative

On March 15, 2020, the Guangzhou Municipal Government donated 300,000 masks to the Fukuoka Municipal Government for COVID-19 prevention. Guangzhou committed to the donation on March 9, 2020. Guangzhou and Fukuoka have been friendship cities since 1979. 100,000 masks were distributed to the Fukuoka City Medical Association, 80,000 masks went to the Fukuoka Dental Association, 70,000 masks went to facilities for seniors and the disabled, and 50,000 masks went to day care and after-school child care centers. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
