Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On March 27, 2020, the Kitakyushu Municipal Government, a city in Fukuoka Prefecture, received a shipment of 200,000 masks from the Dalian City Government for COVID-19 prevention. Dalian is located in Liaoning Province, China. The financial value of the donation is estimated. On February 5, 2020, as coronavirus infections were rising in China, the Kitakyushu Municipal Government sent 260 masks and 70 sets of protective gear to Dalian. Dalian's donation of 200,000 masks was seen as a way to repay this donation. Kitakyushu City was the first international friendship city for Dalian City. The two cities signed a friendship city agreement in May 1979.
