Project narrative

On September 6, 2011, Xiamen University donated a bronze Confucius statue to Shizuoka Sangyo University located in Shozuoka prefecture. The bronze statue of Confucius is 73cm high, 94cm wide and 65cm deep. It is located at the university's Iwata Campus, and serves as a symbol of interscholastic educational exchange. On September 6, 2011, a statue unveiling ceremony was held. It was attended by university officials and the Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture President, and the Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo. The International College of Xiamen University and Shizuoka University signed a cooperative school agreement in May 2007. Since then, officials from the two schools visit each other regularly every year to carry out educational cooperation and exchange activities. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
