On March 1, 2020, the Chinese Government pledged 5,000 sets of protective clothing and 100,000 masks to unspecified Japanese institutions for COVID-19 prevention. The first two batches of materials arrived in Tokyo on February 27 and 28, 2020. It is unknown if the rest of the materials were received. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
