Full Description

Project narrative

On December 23, 2020, the Chinese Government provided USD 100,000 to Mercy Corps to support the recovery of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) affected by the Beirut Port Explosion in August 2020. This funding was part of the Lebanon Flash Appeal 2020 and targeted businesses in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. Mercy Corps used the contribution within a broader gender-sensitive strategy aimed at strengthening the resilience of MSMEs and the economic and social structures critical for recovery. The program provided unconditional cash support to 28 businesses.
