In May 2009, the Shanghai Municipal Government donated 50,000 masks to the Osaka Prefectural Government and the City of Osaka Municipal Government for H1N1 influenza response. The Osaka Prefectural Government and the City of Osaka Municipal Government each received 25,000 masks. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
