Project narrative

In May 2009, the Guangdong Provincial Government donated 200,000 masks to the Hyogo Prefectural Government for H1N1 influenza response. On May 20, 2009, the Guangdong Provincial Government ordered the purchase of the masks. The donation arrived at the Kansai Airport in Osaka, Japan on May 21, 2009. The masks were packaged in 20 boxes of 10,000 masks each. The masks were distributed to citizens including elementary and junior high school students. Hyogo and Guangdong established friendly relations in 1983. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
