Project narrative

On June 1, 2020, the Chinese Government provided USD 800,000 to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for desert locust control in Iran and Pakistan (see Record ID# 97999). The funding was made through the FAO-China South-South Cooperation (SSC) Programme and supported the FAO’s global action to control the Desert Locust outbreak, which had threatened food security and livelihoods across the Middle East.
