Project narrative

On June 20, 2008, the Chinese Government donated USD 100,000 to the Japanese Red Cross Society to respond to the 2008 Tohoku earthquake. The magnitude 7 earthquake occurred in the northeast of Japan on June 14, 2008. On June 20, 2008, China's Ambassador to Japan Cui Tiankai presented a $100,000 USD check to the Japanese Red Cross Society in a donation ceremony held at the Japanese Red Cross headquarters.
