On April 9, 2020, the Henan Provincial Government shipped a donation of 50,000 masks to the Mie Prefectural Government for COVID-19 prevention. On April 11, 2020, the masks arrived in Mie Prefecture, Japan. Mie Prefecture and Henan Province have been friendship cities since November 19, 1986. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
