Project narrative

On March 27, 2020, the Shuangliu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province Municipal Government donated 10,000 masks to the Atsugi City Municipal Government, located in Kanagawa Prefecture, for COVID-19 prevention. The masks were intended to be distributed to to hospitals, elementary and junior high schools, and facilities for people with disabilities. On March 27, 2020 a virtual mask donation ceremony was held between officials representing Shuangliu District and Atsugi City. The event was attended by Li Yangjun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Shuangliu District Committee; Mayor Kobayashi Changliang of Atsugi City; and President Makamura Makubu of the Atsugi City Chamber of Commerce and Trade Union. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
