Project narrative

In 2008, the Xiamen Municipal Government donated a bronze heron statue to the Sasebo City Municipal Government in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the friendship city alliance between Xiamen and Sasebo City, a city located in Nagasaki Prefecture. The statue is located in the Xiamen Garden at Portside Park near the entrance of the Sasebo Station Minato. The heron is a symbol of Xiamen City, Fujian Province. On November 27, 2008, a statue unveiling ceremony was held. The financial value of the statue is unknown.
