Project narrative

Prior to May 19, 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Japan donated about 60,000 masks to the Japan-China Friendship Association of Tokyo for COVID-19 prevention. Of the donated masks, 1,000 were to be delivered to each Japan-China Friendship Prefectural Association. 1,000 were sent to Miyagi Prefecture Japan-China Friendship Association on May 19 and arrived on May 21, 2020; the association then donated masks to Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai City. 1,000 were delivered to Kagoshima Prefecture Japan-China Friendship Association on June 9, 2020. It is likely that other prefectural associations received batches. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
