Project narrative

On 16 November 2017, the Chinese Embassy in Mauritius donated 1 million Mauritian rupees to the Le Reduit Appeal Fund, which supports local disaster relief and social assistance activities. The contribution was made during an official handover ceremony attended by Ambassador Sun Gongyi. The donation formed part of China’s broader support to Mauritius in times of natural disaster and social need. The fund is managed under the auspices of the Government of Mauritius and channels resources to affected households and social service initiatives.
