Project narrative

On 27 December 2016, Chen Zhihong, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Mauritius, attended a year-end charity event at the Mauritian Presidential Palace for people with Down syndrome and other disabilities. The event was hosted by President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim and attended by the Minister of Social Security, Etienne Dauriavu, along with other senior officials. During the ceremony, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy, Chen donated New Year gifts to a Mauritian disability organization supporting children and adults with disabilities. The contribution was symbolic in nature, intended to demonstrate goodwill and solidarity during the holiday season.
