Project narrative

On 10 August 2019, during the inauguration of the 17th Festival of Books for World Book and Copyright Day in St. Pierre Square, Chinese Ambassador Sun Gongyi and his spouse Wang Ju attended the opening ceremony alongside Mauritian officials, including the Minister of Arts and Culture, the Minister of Education and Human Resources, and the Director of the National Library. At the event, Ambassador Sun, on behalf of China, donated more than 200 Chinese books provided by the Chongqing Library to the National Library of Mauritius.
