Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In August 2007, the Chinese Government donated 30,000 tons of rice to Guinea-Bissau to help address urgent food shortages in the country. This large-scale donation followed an earlier shipment of 2,000 tons of rice (date unknown) that had temporarily alleviated immediate needs while the larger consignment was arranged. The August 2007 donation was critical in stabilizing food availability and preventing potential civil unrest.
