Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On October 23, 2019, the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) reported that China Jiangxi International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd. (CJIC), a Chinese state-owned company, donated K50,000 (approx. $4,000 USD) to the Lenje People of Central Province, Zambia, to support the Kulamba Kubwalo traditional ceremony. The event, which honors the tribe’s ancestral heritage, is a culturally significant gathering held annually in Zambia.

Staff comments

1. While development actors were involved, the primary intent of this transfer was representational, fostering diplomatic goodwill and strengthening bilateral relations through cultural engagement.
