Project narrative

In 2016, ICBC Argentina, a subsidiary of the Chinese state-owned Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), donated $25,000 USD to the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA) to support the acquisition of two artworks for the museum’s permanent collection. The donation marked the beginning of a cultural partnership between ICBC and MALBA. The aim was to support the museum’s exhibitions and programming and to enhance cultural ties between China and Argentina.
