Project narrative

Before June 9, 2017, the Chinese Consulate-General in Laoag provided a grant of unspecified value to support the development of the first phase of the Philippines-China Friendship Park in Baguio Botanical Garden. On June 9, 2017, formally designated as Philippine-China Friendship Day, Consul Jianqun represented the Chinese Government and delivered a speech to acknowledge community and government efforts to construct a Filipino-Chinese Friendship Arc Garden for the park. Since then, a second and third phase have been completed on October 6, 2019, and June 9, 2022, respectively. It's unclear whether phases 2 and 3 were partly funded by the Chinese consulate in Laoag as well. The Chinese Consul General in Laoag has attended each phase's unveiling ceremony.
