On May 13, 2020, the Xianyang City Municipal Government donated 7,200 masks to the Narita City, Chiba Prefecture Municipal Government for COVID-19 prevention. Xianyang and Narita signed a "Friendly Cities Agreement" on September 14, 1988. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
