On June 4, 2020, the Chinese Consulate General in Nagasaki donated 5,000 KN95 masks and 500 pieces of protective clothing to Nagasaki University for COVID-19 prevention. A donation ceremony was held on June 4, 2020, and was attended by Consul General Liu Yaming and Shigeru Kono, President of Nagasaki University. The financial value of the donation is unknown.
