In 2017, the Consulate of the People’s Republic of China in Tijuana, Yu Bo donated office laptops to the Tijuana Police Department or the Secretariat of Security and Civilian Protection of Tijuana. The specific amount of laptops donated or their worth is unknown. On September 20, 2017, Yu Bo visited with Tijuana's Chief of Police, Marco Antonio Sotomayor, who thanked the Consulate for their earlier donation.
