Project narrative

On April 27, 2020, a medical team dispatched by the Chinese Government to help fight COVID-19 arrived in Kuwait. The 8-member Chinese medical expert team, which was organized by China's National Health Commission and selected by Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, was comprised of experts specializing in fields including laboratory testing, infectious diseases prevention and control, respiratory and critical care, nursing and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The Chinese experts held several meetings with officials of Kuwait's Ministry of Health and experts from Kuwaiti's medical sectors to share experiences in prevention and control, testing, treatment and quarantine. It is unknown when the term of the medical team's service concluded.
