Project narrative

On December 6, 2022, a medical shipment from the Chinese Government arrived in Colombo. The donated materials included 8 million infusion sets, 1.2 million vials of omeprazole sodium for injection, 1 million capecitabine tablets, 612,720 PF. syringes of enoxaparin sodium injection, 240,000 bottles of sodium valproate tablets, and 100,800 ampoules of heparin sodium injection. The shipment arrived in 24 containers (16,000 boxes), with a total weight over 255 metric tonnes. The donated materials were worth LKR 2 billion. This project is part of CIDCA's 500 million RMB humanitarian package to Sri Lanka committed in May 2022 (Record ID#98982). The first batch was donated to Sri Lanka in June 2022 (Record ID#99009); the second batch was donated in September 2022 (Record ID#99245); the third batch was donated in October 2022 (Record ID#100331); the fourth batch was donated in December 2022 (Record ID#98717); the final batch was donated in January 2023 (Record ID#108044).
