Project narrative

On March 12, 2020, the Chinese Government donated over 700 pieces of medical equipment to Italy to support its COVID-19 pandemic response. The equipment was flown from Shanghai to Rome on a China Eastern Airlines flight along with a team of nine medical experts (see Record ID#98951) and arrived on March 12. Among the tons of equipment were ventilators, monitors and defibrillators, including 30 sets of ICU equipment. The Ruijin Hospital of the School of Medicine at Shanghai Jiaotong University prepared the equipment, selecting the items according to Italy's needs and proven were useful during clinical practices in China.
