Project narrative

On May 24, 2022, Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong and his wife visited the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka and donated food packages to 10,000 families on behalf of the Yunnan Provincial Government. During his visit, the ambassador met with the governor of the Eastern Province, Yahan Pat. The two reaffirmed the long friendship between China and the Eastern Province, and the ambassador stressed that China will do its best to assist Sri Lanka during its time of need. The monetary value of the donation is unknown.
