On April 22, 2020, six Chinese entities — state-controlled Chinese entities All-China Women's Federation, China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), and China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF), and private Chinese entities Beijing Youpinyuedong Technology and Trade Co., Ltd. (also known as Beijing Upfood Trade Co., Ltd.), Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co., Ltd., and Tencent — donated 262,000 disposable surgical/medical face masks, 60,000 KN95 face masks, 2,080 disposable protective gowns, and 2,000 medical face shields together valued at ISK 35 million to Landspítali, Iceland's national university hospital. Part of the donation was handed over on April 22, 2020, with the remainder to arrive soon thereafter. Icelandair brought the supplies from China to Iceland. Additionally, at the same handover ceremony on April 22, 2020, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to Iceland's Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
