Project narrative

On September 5, 2022, Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong and his wife visited Trincomalee, Sri Lanka to donate 22 domestically produced computers to schools in Sri Lanka's Eastern Province. These computers were donated by the Yunnan Province for remote learning to assist the school's solar street light project. In attendance at the ceremony were the embassy's Cultural Counselor Zhang Yingbao, the Director of the Political Section Luo Chong, the Director of the Commercial Representative Office of Yunnan Province in Sri Lanka, Hu Kai, and the Chief Secretary of the Eastern Province, Vaniga Sinha. In his speech, the ambassador highlighted China's commitment to working hand in hand with Sri Lanka during this year's anniversaries of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the signing of the Rice-Rubber Agreement.
