Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

From October 29 - 31, 2022, the 22nd Chinese medical team traveled to Bangu City and Bamenjo City in the Haute Plateau Province of Cameroon to hold free medical clinics for the general public. The clinics were coordinated by Beijing Urban Construction Company, which also donated a batch of medical supplies to local hospitals, including masks, disinfectant, and medicines to help treat rheumatism, typhoid, and malnutrition. Over the course of the clinic, the medical team treated over 1,600 patients, using both Chinese traditional medicine and modern medicine. The clinics were intended to promote cooperation between China and Cameroon and improve treatment for local citizens. The monetary value of the clinic project is unknown. The 22nd Chinese medical team to Cameroon (captured in Record ID#99656) completed its service between April 24, 2022 and June 10, 2023 at the Gynaeco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital of Yaoundé and the Mbalmayo District Hospital. During their time in Cameroon, the team held several free clinics, completed 17,519 outpatient visits and 838 inpatient visits, and promoted the use of Chinese traditional medicine.
