Project narrative

On August 20, 2022, the 22nd Chinese medical team held a free clinic at the Health Center of Ngat-Bane in Mbalmayo in central Cameroon. The clinics were intended to help locals who could not travel to the Mbalmayo District Hospital where the 22nd Chinese medical team was stationed, as well as promote bilateral ties between China and Cameroon. During the clinic, 12 Chinese doctors provided an array of services, including ultrasounds, dental examinations, otolaryngology examinations, and acupuncture to more than 100 locals. The team also donated a batch of medicine, medical equipment, and epidemic prevention supplies to the mayor of Mbalmayo, Dieudonne Zang Mba Obele. The 22nd Chinese medical team to Cameroon (captured in Record ID#99656) completed its service between April 24, 2022 and June 10, 2023 at the Gynaeco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital of Yaoundé and the Mbalmayo District Hospital. During their time in Cameroon, the team held several free clinics, completed 17,519 outpatient visits and 838 inpatient visits, and promoted the use of Chinese traditional medicine.
