Full Description

Project narrative

On October 2, 2022, the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong met with the President of University of Jaffna to hand over LKR 4.3 million in scholarship money. This grant will help 82 students continue with their studies in the next academic year with each student receiving a stipend LKR 5000 a month. In a speech the ambassador said the establishment of the scholarship at the University of Jaffna will help to cultivate local talents and solve long-term problems in the region.
