Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In 2022, ICBC Argentina donated USD 8,000 to MALBA (Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires) (Spanish: Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires). In 2016, ICBC Argentina joined as a corporate partner of MALBA, with the aim of expanding the dissemination and scope of the exhibitions and cultural programs developed by the museum. This was the eighth consecutive annual donation from ICBD to MALBA (see Record ID#98239 for one other donation). This donation was used for the acquisition of three new collages to be included in MALBA's collection. The works were by artist Claudia del Río. Claudia del Río is an interdisciplinary artist from Rosario, Argentina. The collages acquired through ICBC funding were part of a series called "Coca-Cola es un ejército" or, "Coca-Cola is an Army." The individual pieces were created in 2009 and titled "C y C, la saga," "Sin Título," and "Sin Título." MALBA purchased these paintings from Walden Gallery, an Argentinian art gallery. The three collages were part of five new art pieces that the museum acquired in 2022. They were selected by MALBA's Acquisitions Committee, Artistic Committee, and curator María Amalia García.
