On October 14, 2022, the Chinese Government donated health care packages to 172 students at Buon Village Primary School in the Kandal Province of Cambodia. The donation was part of the "China-Cambodia Health Care Package" initiative and was funded by the Chinese government’s Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund and the China Foundation for Peace and Development. The kits contained a school bag, stationery, a stainless-steel water bottle, and a stainless-steel lunch box, among other items. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A distribution ceremony was held for this donation. Wu Guoquan, the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, Gary Vichi, the State Secretary of the General Office of the Cambodian Cabinet and Chairman of the Forum of the Alliance of Civil Society Organizations, Cui Chunlai, the Director of the Office of the China Peace Development Foundation in Cambodia, more than 200 staff of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, the Cambodian Civil Society Organization Alliance Forum, and representatives of teachers, students and parents of Buwen Village Primary School attended the ceremony. The "China-Cambodia Health Care Package" aims to provide 10,000 care packages to 10,000 students throughout Cambodia. The project was created by Cambodia's Minister of Post and Telecommunications Chea Vandeth and Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
