Project narrative

On November 10, 2022, the Chinese Navy hospital ship "Peace Ark" arrived in Tanjung Priok Port, North District, Jakarta, Indonesia. The ship likely set out on November 1st, 2022 as it took 200 hours to arrive from China. From November 11th to the 17th the ship provided free medical service. This included diagnosis and treatment. The ship treated a total of 13,488 patients and performed 37 operations. Patients included local residents. The ship held 111 medical staff, 14 clinical departments, three auxiliary diagnostic departments, a pharmacy and a shipborne helicopter ambulance. The Peace Ark began its return journey on November 18th and arrived in a military port in Zhoushan, east China's Zhejiang Province on November 29th. The Peace Ark also held an online seminar with the Indonesian Naval Hospital. This was to conduct joint consultations on on difficult diseases. Medical equipment such as magnetically controlled capsule gastroscopy, ship-specific intravenous anesthesia robots, and new portable capsule endoscopes went abroad with the Peace Ark hospital ship to serve the local people. One couple travelled 4 hours to Tanjung Priok Port to receive treatment. This visit was part of the larger Mission Harmony 2022 and the Peace Ark Indonesia last visited Indonesia as part of Mission Harmony 2013.
