Project narrative

On March 28, 2022, the Chinese Government donated anti-epidemic supplies to Timor-Leste's Serviços Médicos Autónomos e Equipamentos de Saúde (SAMES). The supplies included 100,000 Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines, 20 syringes, 20 fans, 20,000 oxygen concentrators, 50 testing kits, 2 bump infusions, 50 anesthesia machines, 2 patient monitors, 5,000 ultrasound machines, and hand sanitizers (see: Chinese government so supported Vasina Covid-19 Sinovac 100 thousand dozen to Timor-East). The purpose of this donation was to improve COVID-19 response efforts in Timor-Leste. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation. Timor-Leste’s Deputy Minister of Health and China’s Ambassador to Timor-Leste Dr. Xiao Jiangou, attended the ceremony.
