Project narrative

To support the Government of Benin in the effective implementation of the National TVET Strategy, a guarantee of a job-erroneous education, the Chinese Embassy in Benin awarded excellence scholarships worth 19 million FCFA, including 7 million FCFA in a complementary donation from the company WAPCO Benin, to learners of the TVET Establishments in Benin through the "Belt and Vocational Training Belt and Road Initiative Award". 360 students, from 15 technical and professional high schools, 10 agricultural high schools and 8 vocational training centers, participated. 57 winners were selected from 19 various specialties and professions. 500,000 FCFA were provided for first prizes, 300,000 for second prizes, and 200,000 for third prizes. An award ceremony was held on November 23, 2022. The Minister of Secondary, Technical and Vocational Education, Kouaro Yves Chabi, China’s Ambassador to Benin, Peng Jingtao, and the Prefect of the Littoral, Alain Orounla, attended the ceremony.
