Project narrative

On March 29, 2022, China provided food supplies to Uganda through the South-South Cooperation Fund (SSCF) and the World Food Program (WFP). The donation included corn, beans, and other food supplies that will be distributed to the Karamoja region of Uganda. The donation was made to alleviate food shortages and malnutrition faced by Karamoja residents and the supplies ultimately benefited over 130,000 students in the region. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation. Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zhang Lizhong and Representative Megag of the World Food Program in Uganda attended the ceremony.
