Project narrative

On December 19, 2022, the Chinese Government announced that it would donate 3 batches of cloths to make school uniforms for students in Sri Lanka. Through the donation, the Government of Sri Lanka expected to meet 70% of its school uniform fabric needs for the academic year. In the first batch, the Chinese Embassy to Sri Lanka stated there would be 2,374,427.5 meters of white shirts and gowns, 350,031.5 meters of white trousers, 150,003.5 meters of blue trousers, and 138,134 meters of robes. The first batch of cloths was worth RMB 90 million. On January 12, 2023, the cloths were delivered to Sri Lanka. This project is part of CIDCA's 500 million RMB humanitarian package to Sri Lanka committed in May 2022 (Record ID#98982). The projects under this grant include: 1. First batch of emergency medicine worth RMB 10 million to Sri Lanka in June 2022 Record ID#99009); 2. Second batch of emergency medicine worth approximately RMB 12.5 million in September 2022 (Record ID#99245); 3.
