Project narrative

On June 10, 2022, the Ugandan Government received a donation of 5 million doses of Sinovac vaccines from the Chinese Government. The purpose of the donation is to improve Uganda’s COVID-19 prevention efforts. The donation will be distributed quarterly throughout 2022 to Ugandan civilians. A handover ceremony was held for this donation. The First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet Museveni, Economic Counselor Jiang Jiqing and Wang Chenxu, the First Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in Uganda, attended the ceremony.
