Project narrative

On October 27, 2022, China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) paid the school fees of 20 students from Kigungu Primary School in the Entebbe municipality of Uganda. This financial assistance is part of CCCC’s annual “Pupils Assistantship Program.” Fabrice Rulinda, the Entebbe municipality mayor presided over the function where "all the twenty pupils were awarded sh6m for their education as the Chinese company promised to keep the program running so that more learners benefit". Li Qin Pu, the CCCC project manager in charge of the upgrade and expansion of Entebbe airport said the program is part of the company's corporate social responsibility. He noted that the community of Kigungu is the closest to Entebbe airport where CCCC is carrying out some of its work.

1. Unclear whether UGX 6 million was the total amount donated or if each student received UGX 6 million each, making the total donation about UGX 120 million.
