Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On March 23, 2020, the Fujian Provincial Government donated 5,000 KN95 masks and 10,000 surgical masks to the Government of Cantabria. The shipment consisting of 44 boxes was reported to leave Fujian for Beijing on March 23, 2020, and from Beijing it would be shipped to Cantabria. It is unclear if/when the masks arrived. Sodercán, a company owned by the Cantabrian government's Ministry of Innovation and Industry, arranged contact between the Spanish Embassy in Beijing, the Spanish Customs Service, Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Products (AEMPS, subsidiary of Spain's Ministry of Health) to ensure the successful arrival of the donation in Cantabria. Fujian and Cantabria have had official friendly relations since 2009.
