Project narrative

On or before April 17, 2020, the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) donated 9,000 masks to the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) to aid their COVID-19 response. The masks had arrived in Spain as of April 17. The Spanish Olympic Committee planned to distribute the masks as follows: 6,000 to national sports organizations (100 to each of the 60 federations), 500 to the Comisión Española de Ayuda al Refugiado (CEAR), 1,500 to the Spanish Red Cross, and 1,000 to remain with the COE for distribution at their events. The donation was assisted by the Juan Antonio Samaranch Foundation, an organization which facilitates cooperation between the two Olympic committees.
